Ash Grange Vs. Waverley Abbey Football Match Report - Wednesday 17th November 2021

Ash Grange remain unbeaten in the league after drawing 1-1 against an excellent Waverley Abbey side. Ash Grange made a positive start and put the visitors under a great deal of pressure throughout the first half, mainly from Stanley's excellent free kicks and corners. We were made to pay for our missed opportunities when Waverley took the lead against the run of play from a powerful long-range shot. The Ash Grange players demonstrated great character and resilience to fight back for a draw, particularly Keane who ran tirelessly for the team. He scored a remarkable solo goal in the final minutes of the game, collecting the ball on the right-hand side, dribbling past 5 players before squeezing a shot past the goalkeeper at the near post.

There could only be one player of the match after this game, our captain Keane!
