It has been wonderful to have whole school assemblies on Monday and Friday, with children sharing being a Star Learner and bringing home their certificates. Next Friday is the first-class assembly of the year and it is Year 6 who will be sharing their learning with the school. Parents/Carers of Year 6 children are welcome to attend, you will need to wear a mask and sit at intervals in the rows of chairs; please come in through the hall entrance from 8.50am and be sitting by 9am. Young babies and children are welcome to come if they can sit quietly for 20 minutes.
There have been a number of emails sent in the last 3 weeks, so all are contained at the end of this newsletter in case anyone has missed one. Our Parent Council met this week, and the minutes are attached for all to read.
These start from Monday 27th September, and we are delighted to be able to offer these. Monday club runs from home time to 4.15pm, all club staff will bring their children to the side playground for parental/carer collection at 4.15pm
It was so impressive to see all the children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 t try out for the football squad this week, how brave you all are. The squad members start training this week too (Tuesday 28th for Years 5 and 6; Friday 1st October for Years 3 and 4).
Elite Gymnasts have been invited to join a morning club, parents please reply to the invitation emailed out to those selected by Monday 27th September.
Year 5 Drama Club started last week and is being kindly run by Ash Manor staff as a community project linked to their wonderful new theatre.
The new menu has been sent out to parents. Please remember it is your responsibly to order school dinners in advance on Scopay, so children are not left without food.
The last day of this half term is Thursday 21st October.
Surrey community and voluntary controlled schools have decided to have the extra Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday alternative closure on Friday 22 October 2021, which falls the day before the October half-term. School will be closed on this date.
We have an Inset Day for staff training on Monday 1st November, meaning all children return to school Tuesday 2nd November.

Bike to School Week is a week-long event across the UK to encourage families to cycle and scoot to school. It's a great way to celebrate the huge benefits an active school run brings. This year it takes place from 27 September to 1 October 2021. We look forward to seeing more of you walk, scoot and bike to school!
Great news, our Community Stay and Play for children up to 36 months is now running Monday and Friday afternoons during termtime. Contact the school office to book one of the limited spaces each week.
Mrs Twomey who had taken a short-term post with the Nursery team is off to a teaching post on the 10th October, we wish her well and every happiness for the future.
