Happy new half term, how the weather has turned, time to dig out the big coats! How wonderful it was to enjoy Year 3’s postponed Harvest Assembly, it was a credit to the children and staff. Thank you to everyone for supporting our Harvest Appeal this year, the Foodbank were so thankful.
Quite a few children are arriving late and missing this important time to settle into class, undertake interventions and get ready to learn. Reception to Year 6 school day starts with collection from their playground at 8.45am Please ensure your child is on time to go in with the rest of their class and start their school day.
We are also having many packed lunches, PE and Swimming kits being dropped off throughout the day by parents. So as not to interrupt learning, the office team can only deliver in breaktimes, which may be too late for the activity. Please ensure your child comes to school with everything they need for the day so that it is with them when they need it and they don’t miss out.
Thankfully the half term seems to have stemmed the rise in cases, although a few families have the infection at this time caught during half term, there are no new school cases. Please monitor your children for symptoms and undertake tests when needed.
If a member of your household tests positive then please PCR your child before returning them to school. Throughout the infection/isolation period in your home, monitor your child with daily lateral flow tests so we can be sure we are reducing the risk of infection to others.
As Years 3 and 5 have PE on this day and usually come in PE kit, for this week only they need to come to school in their full school uniform and bring their PE Kit to change into later in the day.
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 2.50pm we will be on the front playground selling Poppies and merchandise on behalf of the British Legion. Prices range from 50p to £2. Please bring coins as we will not have any change.
The Parent Council will meet in person on Tuesday at 9.15am. Please let your class representative know if you have comments. www.ash-grange.surrey.sch.uk/parent-council-2/

I have been contacted by the Farnham Foodbank Project to offer the chance for our families who have financial needs to receive a Christmas Hamper with meals for the whole family and seasonal items. Any family who is struggling financially is entitled to receive a hamper and a present for each child. I wanted to write to all families to offer this, as I do not presume to know anyone’s financial situation.
If you would like to take up this offer, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and it will come directly to my inbox. I will only need to know your children’s ages and the total of family members in the home; private financial details are not required.
If you want to know more, please email me or catch me on the gate.
I wrote to you this week sharing the support programme that will be in place for your child as a young carer, if you want to discuss this further then please call me or catch me at the gate.
