Further to my newsletter last Friday, I write to update arrangements for our Free School Meal families.
Thank you to all those who have provided their bank details by Monday 6th April – these have been used to make a bank transfer to cover the period over the Easter holiday.
Now that the government has sorted out a voucher scheme that can easily be downloaded to phones and be forwarded to a trusted friend who can get to a shop, we are able to roll this out and it will begin from the 20 April 2020.
We supply the government with your name, email address and amount due, you are then sent an eCode; this you then use to release your supermarket eGift card. The supermarkets include Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Asda.
You can choose to redeem your eCode at more than one supermarket and they last/can be used as follows:

Asda |

Once you have chosen your preferred supermarket/s and the eCode is converted into a supermarket balance on the eGift card, it will be emailed to you with a link to a barcode which can be presented instore on a smartphone screen or printed on a piece of paper.
If you can’t get to the supermarket, you can forward the eGift card to someone else to buy the goods on your behalf.
You must redeem the eCode within a month, after which point it expires and the monies cannot be recovered.
However once the money is on the eGift card, it will expire as per the guidelines above.
We will issue the vouchers on a fortnightly basis. Please note that the supermarket vouchers cannot be used to purchase age restricted products, such as cigarettes and alcohol.
