In response to feedback received following the changes made to homework last week, I am writing to clarify after a few questions were raised.  On the letter shared last week, the specific weekly expectations for each year group were set out:

We do not expect children to spend any longer than this on the tasks set.  They can of course do more and we have lots of activities to choose from, but they need to only complete the expected time.   Some children will take longer on reading or maths so may not get to everything each week. 

With his in mind, when supporting your child with their homework, please prioritise as follows:

1. Reading Book – share your child’s scheme book
2. Spelling Practise
3. Maths activities from Math Seeds or Mathletics
4. Timestables Rockstars
5. Reading Eggs or Eggspress Assignments

If your child has extra help in school for an area or find an area tricky, work on that area first. 

Providing the children have evidence of the time spent on their tasks, they will not have to make up additional time in school. Please add your comments or time spent on tasks to the record in the front of the homework book so the teacher is aware of what your child has achieved each week.
