Summer 1 Newsletter

What a busy time we have been having as of late with chickens, SATS, projects and trips.   The chickens have arrived and we love them, Nugget and Buttons.  What fun they are to watch, very comical.  They are with us for two more weeks until the end of the half term and all the classes are spending time with them over each week.

Our Year 6 children undertook the government SATs tests this week and were super stars, everyone of them did their best and we are so proud of them all.  Go Year 6 Superstars.

Next week sees the return of the Residential for Year 5 and 6 children who have chosen to attend.  Children have the chance to go once in Year 5 or 6.  Next year we will have the return of the Y3/4 Overnight stay.

We have lots of lovely trips and events coming up in the rest of the term.

Platinum Jubilee Celebrations

On Friday 27th May – last day of the half term, we will be celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee. Children can come to school dressed in Red, White and/or Blue or dressed as a king, queen, prince or princesses.  There will be fun activities throughout the day for the children to enjoy and each child will be receiving a commemorative gift.

Mrs Thomas will be returning to school just before half term after her maternity leave, she will be working across the school.

Next week we are taking part in the Great Plastic count, please help your child to add up the plastic at home. The national report will be sent to the Government to inform them about the use of plastics in the country.  A letter will be emailed out which tells you all about it.

The Eco Team are finalising their choices for the Eco Shop which will start after half term.

Dougie Clark has stepped down as our Local Authority Governor and we thank him for all his hard work and commitment in this role.  We are seeking another Local Authority Governor from our community, this is not a Parent Governor role.  If you want to know more please ask me or follow this link:
