Well what a final week of the half term we have had. Thank you to everyone who completed a questionnaire and for your overall support with the Ofsted process. We had a Section 8 inspection of the school to identify if we are still a “good” school, it all went well and we will be able to share the official result in approximately 30 days. The children were superstars and coupled with the tremendous hard work of the staff and Governors; the inspector was able to see all our wonderful provision. There were no surprises in the inspection and the next steps are areas we had already identified; so on we go with it all.
Year 6 children have the privilege of bringing phones to school for journey’s to and from school but there have been a number of incidents where the children are using them before school on the grounds. THIS IS NOT PERMITTED. Once on the site phones need to be off or I will ban them from the site completely. We are trying to keep the children safe but sometimes the children are using their phones in an unsafe manner.
I remind parents that children from Preschool to Year 5 are not allowed on site unsupervised, as there is no member of staff on duty before school. It is lovely to see the children playing together but sometimes that play needs supervision for problems that occur. Year 6 who have that privilege must be safe and responsible or we will have to remove that privilege for them. All of this is for your child’s safety.
Today is Mrs Southall’s (Reception Class) last day as she moves on to new challenges. We thank her so much for all her hard work and kindness over the years, and wish her all the very best for the future.

We are looking forward to celebrating fairtrade fortnight in school from Tuesday 25th February to Friday 6th March. In order to raise awareness and understanding of fairtrade, we will be holding a fairtrade raffle. If you would like to participate in the raffle, please encourage your child to find a food or drink item at home with the fairtrade logo. The packaging of this item is your raffle ticket. Please ensure that you clearly label the piece of packaging with your child’s name and class before popping it in the raffle box outside the school office. At the end of the fortnight, we will select an item from the box at random in a raffle style for the chance to win a fairtrade friendly prize.
