Happy Summer 2 half term, at last the warmth is here (now we need to try not to moan about the heat). We are looking forward to lots of events and activities in school but of course with the restrictions this may not include parents attending; we await the changes or not to restrictions.
Sports Day will take place on 14th July, with Nursery in the morning and Reception to Year 6 in the afternoon, but parents will not be invited to avoid spreading infections.
Year 6 show will take place at the end of the term, last Friday and Monday and their Leaver’s Assembly on Wednesday 21st July with parents socially distanced.
Year 6 will not be going to Chessington as their final trip, there is too much risk, we will have a school-based event instead, probably a pool party and BBQ (Year 6 are making choices at the moment).
We welcome three new families to school this week:
Please look out for the new parents and give them a lovely Ash Grange welcome.
I am so delighted that PTA are willing to run a Summer Raffle in July; thank you to the committee. There will be cash and other prizes. To raise funds for the prizes we will have a Mufti Day on Wednesday 23rd June, your child can wear their own clothes to school in return for a £2 donation, please pay through Scopay.
Raffle tickets will be arriving in the next couple of weeks, all children will have 2 books each, if these are sold then please come to the office for more books. All monies, ticket stubs and unsold tickets should be returned to the school office by Wednesday 14th July. The draw will take place on 16th July at the Year 6 Performance.
Parents/carers of all children, please do not allow your children to use any of the school playground equipment before or after school, this is for use during the school day only.
Nursery parents the children can play on the train and with the musical instruments on the front playground with supervision as this is for their age group.
I have been asked about staffing for September, it's too early to say yet, new teacher morning is not until Friday 16th July.
Miss Bicknell will be leaving us this year as she has gained a wonderful promotion to be a full time SENCo at another school. We are so sad to lose her but are so delighted for her, we wish her every happiness and success in this new challenge.
It is “step time”, the children will be gaining points for the amount that they step every day. House captains will be wearing school fit-bits (if they do not have their own). Every 1000 steps is worth a token with a bonus 5 tokens for any child who achieves 10,000 in a school day!
