Dear Parents/Carers
Well the sun is still shining and we are all enjoying the joy this brings.
Questionnaire Responses
This week Mrs Rumsby and I processed all your appreciated feedback from the questionnaires sent last term. Thank you for taking the time to share your views. Here is the link to the document to share our responses. Parents who wrote about a personal matter will receive a personal reply. Can I please remind parents to raise any concerns as early as possible with the relevant Classteacher/staff member or book an appointment with me through the office. We want to make our school the best we can and will always listen to parents views to explore possible changes we can make, within the confines of the school policies. Thank you to everyone who made a positive comment, it is so encouraging to the children and staff.
Y5/6 Residential
This week we held the meeting for parents/carers of children who will be going on the Year 5 and 6 residential trip to Oakwood Centre in May 2020 to share a flavour of all the lovely experiences the children will be enjoying. The number of children and their deposits were sent in this week; the trip is now going ahead with no further spaces available.
Uniform
The children are looking wonderful. But lots of children have grown and some of the girl’s skirts are now too short. Our policy is that all skirts must be knee length and I ask parents to ensure that their child’s is in accordance with school policy as soon as possible. I remind parents that there are drawers full of uniform that has kindly been donated by parents, please help yourself.
Marvellous Me
We now have 74% of parents/carers set up, do let us know if you are having any difficulties.
Remember this is vital to have in place for homework and celebrations to be shared. Each week there will be a badge your child can earn and a learning activity that will be shared by the teacher so you know more about what your child has learnt.
Tuck Sale
We have our first afterschool tuck sale on Friday on the playground. Paper bags of sweets are 50p, however if you bring your own reusable container you’ll get a slightly larger scoop of sweets for your 50p! Sweets will be on sale on both playgrounds.
Clubs have now started
Premier Sports still have spaces available for Gymnastics Club on a Friday morning before school and a Rugby Club on a Friday afterschool; these are paid for by parents directly to Premier Sports.
Community Stay & Play
Each week there are 2 community Stay and Play sessions running at Ash Grange Primary School. These are suitable for children from birth to 5 years of age. The weekly term time sessions will be held in the school hall on Mondays and Wednesday afternoons between 1.30pm and 3pm. Entry is through the hall door entrance (down the school drive). No need to book – simply turn up, stay and play with your child.
PTA/Parent Council
I am looking forward to the first meeting of the PTA and Parent Council on Tuesday 24th September at 9am, everyone is welcome to come along, you are not going to be signed up to anything you don’t want to do. Could all current members of the Parent Council let me know if they are happy to be the representatives this year.
Contact Details
Have your contact details changed over the summer holidays? Please update the school office so that you can be contacted in an emergency.
Kind regards,
Mrs Curtis
