Week beginning 26.10.2020

One half term completed, with school open the whole time – yeah what a great achievement!  Thank you to everyone for supporting us with the new Covid prevention world and ways of doing things.

Yesterday I enjoyed the wonderful smaller scale Harvest Show by Year 3, who sang and shared facts about the important role of a Food Back and how we can all help.  We are sharing this video in school with school classes and the Year 3 parents only will receive a private youtube link; enjoy!  Thank you to everyone who helped raise a whopping £144 for the local Food Back, Year 3 will be shopping after half term.

Collection and Drop Off

Thank you to everyone for making this better, masks are on and everyone is following the rules.

Nursery fees

Sessions for the next half term have been added to Scopay and payment is now due.

Writing Challenge for Home Learning

Following on from parent feedback about writing home learning, I am delighted to announce a half-term writing challenge for children from Reception to Year 6, (further details will follow via your child’s Marvellous Me next week). There will be a video clip for each Key Stage to watch and then use to inspire their own story writing. All children are expected to take part (this will be their home learning over half term) and this will be written in their homework book that they are bringing home. If you would like a sneak peek at the videos, please follow the relevant links:

Our aim is to encourage children to use their imagination and improve their stamina and love of writing, therefore, teachers will mark the writing based on compositional qualities of ideas, not spelling or grammar!  Of course the teacher will be noting how well they are spelling and using grammar and adding this to their ongoing assessment of your child.

Year 6 Applications for Secondary School

The closing date for on-time applications is 31 October 2020. Please make sure you have completed this online

Children in Need

We have pin badges and wristbands available to purchase through Scopay for £1 each. Orders will be sent home with children during the Children In Need week.

Children can also wear their pyjamas in return for a £2 donation (through Scopay) on Friday 13th November.

Willow and Nugget

Willow and Nugget just wanted to say hello to you all. They are doing well and they are very happy in their new home.

Kindest regards and hopes for a happy and healthy half term, see you all on Tuesday 3rd November 2020 (Monday 2nd November is a teacher training day).
