Week beginning 3.5.21

Well what a lovely sunny week we have all enjoyed, let’s hope we get to keep it for the bank holiday weekend; remember no school on Monday this week.  We had a really valuable meeting of the Parent Council this week, the minutes are at the end of this newsletter. One of the ideas was to welcome our new families by a first name mention on the newsletter so:  it has been lovely to welcome some new children this half term so far to school Oghosa to Y6, Hannah and Iyosayi to Y4M, Ethan to Y4P, Tilly to Y3 and Rosie to Y1. We also sadly said bye bye to Eeqan in Y5.

We have had a few confirmed and suspected cases of Slapped Cheek in school this week, thankfully no new ones since Wednesday.  Please keep an eye on your children. Details about Slapped Cheek can be found at the NHS website at

You may have noticed Mrs Gray has not been in the office as much recently, she is currently unwell and is undertaking treatment so will not be about as much as normal.

2nd Hand Uniform

We are aware of an issue with requesting Second-hand Uniform through Scopay. If you have a need please email the school office and we will check what is available.

We will update separately when we have a solution.

Year 6 Leavers Hoodies

This is the last weekend to order Leavers Hoodies on Scopay. We are unable to accept late requests so please ensure you have ordered by Monday (3rd May).

Class Photos

We have Imago Photographers coming in on Wednesday (5th) to take Class Photos so please make sure your child is in their correct Ash Grange uniform. Proofs will be sent home in a couple of weeks.

Lunches - Week C.

To help you with planning your children’s meals we have added a new page to our website with details of the weekly menus. This can be found at

A gentle reminder that parents need to continue to book 2 weeks in advance for all school meals through

Funzone and Teeny Funzone

We can now confirm that we are able to open our wraparound care from Tuesday 4th May.

Teeny Funzone Parents - Please be aware that drop off and collection for Teeny Funzone will be from the Funzone Door (access via the school car park) due to numbers of children attending at this time.

A separate message was sent to Nursery parent/carers detailing the change of entry points. As a reminder Nursery 1 will enter and exit through the Front Nursery Entrance, Nursery 2 will enter and exit through the gate they currently use for home time.

From Friday 7th May Nursery 2 are starting to swim on a Friday morning, so please send them in with a costume/trunks, swimming hat, towel and shoes for walking to and from the pool area – crocs, flips flops etc..

Our latest Parent Council Meeting Minutes are available to read here.

Keep well, kindest regards,

Mrs Curtis
