Week beginning 6th April 2020 to 19th April 2020 - Easter Holiday Newsletter

Dear Parents/Carers,

Strangely week 2 seems to have raced along, as we settle into the new normal.  In chatting to parents this seems to be the week when the cupboards have had a makeover, sorting and tidying time.  At school we have been sorting out all the lost property and uniform boxes ready to share with families when we return.

We’ve had steady numbers of around 15 children per day throughout this week and the staff have been gardening, developing artistic skills, completing learning tasks and lots of exercise (swimming, Jo Wicks and great use of the premises).

We are open throughout the Easter holidays, including the Bank Holiday weekend.  So remember if your circumstances change and you are doing a front line job and have no one else to care for your child/ren they can come to school.  Email

Home Learning

As well as the activities and tasks set each Monday and Thursday, the teachers will be popping up in their class page section of the website ideas for the Easter holidays.  Remember to send them pictures:

Year 2

The emails are linked on the staff page of the website.

Then the teachers will add them to the class gallery so everyone can see what exciting things the children are doing.

In addition, there are lots of great websites that are available, teachers and families are sharing ideas, we have added them to the class home learning page.

Surrey County Council have a letter linked to this for you all - see attached.

Well the science labs went down a treat, there were some delightful pics on the PTA Facebook group.  We have some budding scientists.

Next week we are getting crafty; with I hope the chance to brighten up someone’s day.  We have Scratch kits, with 4 eggs, sticks, ribbons and envelopes. I have had a go…(way more fun than emails).  The lovely thing is that these can be then sent to relatives and friends to cheer them up.  Packs will be ready from Monday 6.4.2020, pop into school on your daily walk to pick one up.

Remember to share pics through the Facebook page or send directly to the Classteacher through their email.

Free School Meals

We have contacted all our Free School Meal families to find out if they want to benefit from the government’s provision of £15 per week.  We are providing the money directly to families through a BACS transfer as the voucher scheme does not include our local shops.

In this time of changing needs, if your family is awarded Universal Credit and therefore they become entitled to a Free School Meal and therefore this weekly £15 support then just let us know and we will set it up for you too.

In this really awful time there is so much to celebrate, how kind people are being, how everyone is doing their bit to reduce pressure on the NHS.  I know 2 weeks is a long time but remember every day you stay home, do not make unnecessary journeys and keep to the social distancing rules, you are helping to save lives.

Please keep well and safe, Happy Easter, kind regards, Mrs Curtis
