Happy new half term, the cold of this week has certainly let us know which season we are in; please make sure your child has a coat at school so that they can go outside for playtimes/learning. The children have had a really exciting week, launching new projects and starting to learn lots of wonderful things. Year 6 children have swapped roles across the school, which they are all really excited about.
You may have noticed that our new gates are being installed, they look wonderful and should be completed by next week. Parents of Funzone who require access to the site before and after school will be given instructions about how they enter the site. The front small gate will automatically open at drop off and home times (it will just need pushing) beyond that visitors will use the key pads to request entry. When the budget allows we will get the alley gates on the same system. In the spring we will be respraying our perimeter fence which is beginning to peel and not look lovely.
Our wonderful promotional video has arrived and it is fantastic. Please take a moment to have a look, it will bring a smile and warm your heart; you may even spot your child! Go the website to find the link: www.ash-grange.surrey.sch.uk/welcome-to-ash-grange/
All payments including dinners and snack bar are through Scopay.com – please contact the office if you need your login details. To reduce infection risk we would prefer to not handle cash.
Thank-you all so much for your ongoing support of the social distancing safety measures in place on the school site, which are working so well. As we enter the second lockdown, we need to further reduce the amount of people on the site and the amount of people everyone is coming into contact with.
So until the end of the national lockdown:
Due to non-essential shops closing and not wishing to put additional burdens on delivery drivers, we will not be running Secret Santa this year. Anyone who has already paid on Scopay will be contacted by the office.
The whole school will be coming to school in pyjamas/onesies on Friday 13th November to celebrate Children in Need day. If you are able to make a donation to the charity, please do so through Scopay. We have Pudsey pin badges and wristbands available to purchase through Scopay for £1 each. Orders will be sent home with children during the Children In Need week.
You may have noticed an additional staff member in Year 2 over the last couple of weeks, this is Miss Thomas. Sadly, at the start of the school year Mrs Ross informed me that she would be unable to stay at Ash Grange after Christmas. I ran a recruitment process that secured Miss Thomas as Classteacher and decided to have her start at Ash Grange in October to provide a thorough handover process.
Due to the impact of Covid-19 the Toy appeal are expecting a significant reduction in gift donations and can only accept applications for children who will wake up to nothing on Christmas morning. If you would like your children to be considered for this, please contact the office/Mrs Curtis who will treat this with the strictest confidence.
