Thank you to everyone who came to the wonderful Christmas Fayre. Thank you so much to the PTA and their helpers for all your hard work to put together this event. All proceeds are going towards the costs of the new playground equipment.
On Monday, Tuesday and Thursday next week there is Secret Santa for children to buy secret presents for adult family members. If you would like your child to buy a present, then send in £2.50 per present, with a maximum of 2 per child, to the school office at the start of the week. On Wednesday this week we have our parent teacher meetings. This is a very important meeting for parents and teachers to celebrate your child’s achievement and share next steps. The school will be closed to pupils on the day, however during the day 8.30am -3.30pm, there will be a crèche in the hall for Preschool to Year 6 children for the duration of your meeting. Please do come to the school office if you need help.
We are also looking forward to our whole school Christmas Lunch on Friday this week, Nursery children will enjoy their special meal on Thursday. On Friday the children can enjoy wearing their festive jumpers for the day.
Remember to come along to the class exhibitions afterschool on Thursday and before school on Friday to take a look at the great work your child has produced this half term.
Due to family reasons Mrs Taylor is currently out of the office. The other members of the office team are available to help. If your child is being collected by someone else, please let the classroom teachers know when you drop off in the morning.
There are two performances of the KS1 and Reception Nativity on 17th December at 2.15pm and 18th December at 9.30am. The PTA will be selling Disco Tickets for Thursday 19th December in the front playground this week before and after school. Tickets cost £2 and should be brought in advance to take advantage of the cheaper price; it is £2.50 for a ticket at the door.
Please be aware that, due to cars parking on both sides of the road outside the school at drop off/pick up time, the Council have decided to extend the existing double yellow lines (no waiting at any time) on Ash Church Road. This week is recycling week and children earn points for recycling in their classrooms and around school.
Mr Dancer is leaving at the end of this term, his last day is Thursday 19th December. We have been so grateful to him for all his hard work in music, giving the children confidence and skills. He is handing the baton to Mrs Haygarth from the Nursery team, who is also a music specialist, and our music subject leader.
We have seen a rise in the number of dentist and none urgent medical appointments taken during school time which is interrupting learning for the individual and class. Where possible please make medical appointments outside of school hours, where this is not possible bring the appointment card, letter or text along to the office with the absence request form.
The attendance policy details all practice and penalties.
We have a fantastic range of books for you to borrow for free from the school office. Please click on the link to see more titles on offer. https://www.ash-grange.surrey.sch.uk/parentcarer-library-of-resources-to-borrow/
