Message from Headteacher

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you for your support with Comic Relief today, we have raised £360.01 so far. Do look out for lots of fun on the television tonight.

This week, our Year 5 and 6 children enjoyed their residential trip to Oakwood. They have had a fantastic time, taking part in a wide range of new activities requiring skill, courage and teamwork. Although there hasn’t been much sleep, they truly have made wonderful memories. A huge thank you to our amazing staff — Mr Barnett, Mrs Neumann, Miss Postel, Mrs Cox and Mrs O’Doherty — who have cared for and nurtured the children throughout the trip.

Thank you also to Mr Rattan, Mrs Cox and Mrs O’Doherty for providing a special experience for the Year 5 and 6 children who stayed in school. They enjoyed their very own “Funwood”, filled with teamwork challenges, sports and creative activities, including making their own pizza lunch today.

Year 4 parents, you will already be aware that the Easter performance takes place on Thursday morning. We look forward to welcoming you to Holy Angels Church at 9am. If you have a younger sibling in Nursery, you are welcome to drop them off early at the school office so that you can arrive at the church in good time for the start of the show.

There are many events to look forward to next week, including the Book Fair in the hall each day (thank you to the parent helpers who have volunteered to run this), as well as a bonus Easter raffle. Please see all the information below.

We also held a very productive Parent Council meeting this week. Thank you for all the valuable contributions. Mrs Muller has sent out the agenda links, recording and a summary of the agreed actions.

Let’s hope the sunshine lasts this weekend.

Kind regards,
Mrs Curtis

World Book Day, A Wonderful Day of Reading!

Our school enjoyed a fantastic celebration of World Book Day 2026. This year was part of our two‑year cycle, meaning it was a non‑dress‑up year, but that didn’t stop the excitement! Instead of costumes, we focused on what the day is truly all about: a love of books and reading.

Throughout the day, children took part in a variety of fun and engaging activities across the school, including:

✨ Storytelling sessions with mystery readers
📖 Shared reading opportunities with buddy classes
🔍 Book‑themed challenges designed to spark curiosity
💬 Talking about favourite stories and discovering new ones

The atmosphere around school was buzzing with enthusiasm as pupils immersed themselves in worlds of adventure, mystery, humour, and imagination. It was wonderful to see how confidently and joyfully they engaged with stories in different ways.

We would like to thank all our families for supporting our two‑year World Book Day cycle. This approach helps ensure the day remains enjoyable, accessible, and meaningful for everyone, whether it’s a creative dress‑up year or a year dedicated purely to reading activities.

We hope your children came home excited to tell you all about the stories they heard and the books they explored. We certainly enjoyed celebrating with them!

Here’s to a wonderful year of reading ahead!

Recycling at Ash Grange

We are collecting hard to recycle items to help save our planet!

At Ash Grange, we collect milk bottle lids, biscuit wrappers, cheese wrappers, used stamps, old coins and bras. The bras will be sent to girls and women in Africa.

If you have any of these items and want to recycle them, there is a collection point in the Eco Shop at the entrance of the school. You can leave these in the appropriate drawer in the Eco shop, and we will recycle them!

Additionally, you can bring clothing for recycling to the office any time!

Thank you for helping us make the world greener and support communities!

Comic Relief

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported our Comic Relief fundraiser.

A special shout‑out to our wonderful kitchen team for making the most amazing biscuits with red noses. They truly brought smiles to everyone’s faces!

Thanks to your kindness and generosity, we were able to raise an amazing £360.01 for this fantastic cause.

Your contributions — big or small — truly make a difference. Thank you!

Easter Raffle

We would love to run an Easter Raffle this year to help raise funds for new resources for our Lego Therapy programme. Lego Therapy plays an important role in supporting all children’s communication, social skills and confidence, and we are keen to get this provision underway.

To make the raffle possible, we are kindly asking for donations.

Suitable donations might include:

  • Easter eggs or chocolate treats
  • Small gifts or sets
  • Toys, books or crafts
  • Any items that would make a lovely raffle prize for children from 2-11

All contributions can be dropped off at the school office.

Your support, big or small, would be greatly appreciated and will directly help us provide meaningful Lego Therapy activities for all our pupils.

Raffle tickets will be available to buy from the school office from Monday, 23rd March.

The draw will take place on Friday morning during assembly.
