Message from Headteacher

Dear Parents and Carers,

Here we are at the end of another amazing year at Ash Grange. 

It has been a truly fantastic year, with our children growing, flourishing and achieving so much. We could fill pages with their successes and memorable moments, including our Harvest celebrations, Nativity performances, sing-alongs, Easter shows, LAMDA presentations and, of course, our spectacular Year 6 end-of-year production. 

Our children have achieved so much on a personal level too. Every child has made progress and should be incredibly proud of themselves. Throughout the year, pupils have earned certificates, book prizes, handwriting and fountain pens, star learner awards, celebrating their hard work and determination. We have also seen some remarkable academic achievements, including children joining the 100% Club by achieving full marks in an assessment they completed. 

Our Year 1 pupils rose brilliantly to the challenge of the Phonics Screening Check, Year 4 successfully completed their Multiplication Tables Check, and our Year 6 children achieved excellent SATs results, exceeding even their own expectations. They all have so much to be proud of. 

I would like to thank every parent and carer for your support and partnership throughout the year. Together, we have achieved so much as we have nurtured, encouraged and supported your children on their learning journeys. 

Thank you to all those who served as class reps on the Parent Council, helping to strengthen communication between home and school and sharing ideas that continue to make Ash Grange an even better place for our children. We are grateful for your time, commitment and support. 

I would also like to personally thank our wonderful staff. Their dedication, care and hard work are extraordinary. They support your children emotionally, pastorally, academically and socially every single day, always going the extra mile to help them thrive. I am incredibly proud to work alongside such a talented and caring team. 

Our thanks also go to our governors, who give their time voluntarily to support, challenge and guide the school. Their commitment plays an important role in helping us continue to grow and improve for the benefit of our children and wider community. 

As we prepare for the new academic year, please keep an eye on the school calendar, which is currently being updated by the wonderful Mrs Müller. All key dates and events for the year ahead will be published there, including nativities, performances, sports days, parent events, school trips and many other important occasions. We encourage all families to take time to note these dates in advance so that you can join us whenever possible and share in these special moments of school life. 

I would also like to make parents aware of a change to our lunchtime arrangements for next year. Due to the increasing number of children in our school, we will be operating two lunchtime sittings each day. As a result, we will be offering one parent lunch per year group each year. These will be after Christmas, please do book your place, there will be space for all parents of the class. 

I do apologise that we are unable to offer additional parent lunch opportunities. However, with the logistical challenges of managing two lunchtime sittings and our growing school population, this is the most practical way for us to continue providing this valued experience for families. 

As we reach the end of the academic year, I hope all our families enjoy a wonderful summer holiday. May this be a time for rest, relaxation and making special memories together, away from the routines and schedules of school life.

We look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Wednesday 2nd September. Please note school will be closed for staff training on INSET Day on 1st September.
