PTA

The PTA is a parent association at Ash Grange and to which all parents/carers are automatic members.  You can see members on the playground but with the pandemic we are having to meet differently and share messages through Facebook and school newsletter.

The Team are listed below, new members are always welcome and are very much needed so more activities can be organised for the children and parent's benefit.  Due to Covid and the lack of meetings for selecting a committee Mrs Curtis asked the team to be on for another year, which they kindly agreed to do.

This years committee is led by:

  • Chair - Sarah Maude

  • Secretary – Clair Waterman

  • Treasurer – Louise Hobbs

To contact them look out for them on the playground, pop a message into the office or email them at: pta@ash-grange.surrey.sch.uk

Events planned for this year are: (see the calendar for specific dates)

Christmas Raffle, Secret Santa – next half term.

Easter raffle, Mother’s Day  - in the spring

Summer Raffle, Fathers Day – in the summer term.

Sadly, we can not have discos until we can mix bubbles together.

Normally we would have a mufti and then families kindly send in goodies for the raffle, we can not do that this year as we want to avoid handling items from lots of locations.  So we are asking for families to donate £2 for an event and £2.50 for Secret Pressie events.

To help families plan ahead and spread costs we have set up Scopay for all the events and any further donations that you want to make, so at any time before the event you can go on and donate to the event.

If you want to know more ask the PTA team.

Fundraising Plans 2020-21

For our fundraising we are looking at 2 projects:

  1. Resources for playtime, big things like table tennis tables and playhouses for younger children
  2. An alternative gate entrance and alleyway inside the perimeter of the school to provide a better journey to school for children and relieve pressure on other exit points.

Funding raised has helped fund many things over recent years, here are a few of the things:

  • Children’s lockers
  • Swimming pool equipment
  • New books
  • Pantomine treats and subsidising of costs
  • Playground equipment
  • Guitars, keyboards, drums, recorders and other percussion instruments for our wonderful weekly music lessons
  • Support to pay for the new huge play structure in the main playground.
