Toothbrush Challenge

Please enter an introduction for your news story here.

Dear Parents and Carers,

Today we launched our annual Toothbrush Challenge with a lovely assembly, where we shared some key messages about keeping our teeth clean and healthy:

  • It takes about 2 minutes to brush our teeth well.

  • Don’t wet your toothbrush before use, as this can dilute the toothpaste.

  • Brush using small circular movements,  ensuring all surfaces of the teeth are cleaned. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BapR9J86ZZw

  • Spit, don’t rinse – rinsing washes away the protective fluoride from the toothpaste.
  • Mouthwash is not needed alongside brushing; it’s best used between brushes.
  • Brush at least twice a day – once in the morning and once before bed.
  • If you have a late-night drink or snack, remember to brush again afterwards.
  • After eating, wait about 15 minutes before brushing to allow acids in the mouth to settle.

Reception to Year 6 have been given a new toothbrush to use at school this week, which they will bring home at the end of the week. If other children in your family need a new toothbrush, please come to the office as we have some available free of charge.

Toothbrushes and toothpaste are also available in our Eco Shop. If money is tight, please don’t hesitate to ask for items to be charged to the We Care account.

Happy brushing!

Mrs Curtis
