Cycle to School Week - 5th to 9th October 2026

Ash Grange Nursery and Primary School will be taking part in Cycle to School Week, taking place from Monday 5th October to Friday 9th October 2026.

Dear Parents/Carers,

We are excited to announce that Ash Grange Nursery and Primary School will be taking part in Cycle to School Week, taking place from Monday 5th October to Friday 9th October 2026.

Cycle to School Week is a national initiative that encourages children, families and staff to choose active travel for their journey to and from school. Whether your child cycles, scoots or rides with you, taking part can help promote healthier habits, improve wellbeing, build confidence and contribute to a cleaner environment around our school.

We would love as many children as possible to take part during the week. Pupils can cycle to school on one day or throughout the week. Every journey counts!

Please remember:

  • Children must wear a correctly fitted helmet when cycling or scooting.
  • Bicycles and scooters should be roadworthy and well maintained.
  • Pupils should follow road safety rules and take care when travelling to and from school.
  • Bikes and scooters must be stored in the designated areas on the school site.

Throughout the week, we will be celebrating those who take part and promoting the many benefits of active travel.

By choosing to cycle, scoot or walk where possible, we can work together to reduce congestion around the school gates, improve air quality and encourage healthy lifestyles for our children.

Thank you for your support. We look forward to seeing lots of pupils joining in and helping make our school run healthier, happier and more sustainable.

Best wishes
