SPRING 1 TOWERS, TUNNELS and TURRETS wow day

We had great fun with our tower challenge today. Which group could build the tallest stable tower using only sellotape and newspaper?  Great collaboration, communication and thinking skills were used by Year 2s! We played a game called ENVOY where each team had to collect facts about castles from groups around the room. We are on our way to being castle experts! We were also very lucky because it snowed on our WOW day!

AUTUMN 2 STREET DETECTIVES 

We enjoyed visiting Ash Library and walking around Ash looking for old houses and geographical features. This term in Science we had HEALTHY ME day, and we learnt all about the importance of keeping fit and eating healthy foods.

AUTUMN 2 STREET DETECTIVES WOW DAY

We enjoyed a visit to Ash museum which is located in Ash Chapel next to the school. We saw lots of interesting artefacts and we also sketched the outside of the chapel. Back at school we set up our own class museum and became history detectives, exploring Victorian objects.

AUTUMN 1 LAND AHOY! WOW DAY

We enjoyed taking part in lots of pirate activities today. We followed instructions to make our own treasure maps and we found pirate symbols in the playground. We dressed up as pirates and drew ourselves as pirates.

Autumn 1 Land Ahoy!

We finished our topic with our designing and making project. We had to design and make a wheeled vehicle that could carry a pirate's treasure. We also enjoyed the 'Take One Picture' art project this half-term and had great fun designing fancy decorations for the front of a gondola. We have explored materials in Science and learnt about oceans and continents in Geography.
