Welcome to Year 1

Autumn 1 - The Enchanted Woodland

This half term we have been immersing ourselves in two books to inspire our writing, The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson and Where the Wild Things are by Maurice Sendak. We retold our stories in role play using a story map to help us create our own terrible creature and story setting. 

We were all really excited as we went on a walk from school to Ash Ranges. We explored what different features a village has, completed a scavenger hunt and even made our own tree rubbings.

We have really enjoyed the start of our new topic. We found fairies in our school meadow and made our own Gruffalo crumble.
