Young Carer
Dear Parents/Carers,
At Ash Grange we are aware that some of our pupils are Young Carers. Family situations can change over time, meaning some children are not always carers; they may step in or out of this role as circumstances change.
Surrey defines a Young Carer as a person aged 5 – 18, living in Surrey, who provides practical or emotional care for a member of their family with a long-term illness, physical disability or learning difficulty, mental ill health or substance or alcohol dependency.
We know that Young Carers may need a little extra support to enjoy and do well at school. At Ash Grange we are committed to ensuring that all pupils who are Young Carers are identified and supported effectively. The in-school support your child will receive includes:
