Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) Awareness Day - 16 October

Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) Awareness Day

Dear Parents/Carers,

On 16 October we will be supporting Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) Awareness Day. DLD is a lifelong condition that affects a person's ability to understand and use language and is thought to affect around 2 children in every classroom.

To learn more about DLD and access helpful resources for parents and carers, please see below some information and resources:
- DLD and me: The book | DLD and Me
- RADLD: RADLD - Raising Awareness of Developmental Language Disorder – RADLD
- Interactive Bubble resource: View - Hwb (gov.wales)
- Youtube video: DLD post-diagnosis video for parents, carers and school staff

By raising awareness, we can help ensure that children and young people with DLD receive the understanding and support they need to thrive.

Best wishes
