Welcome to Nursery 2!

Take a look at what we have been doing.

Red Nose Day!

We dressed in red to raise money for Red Nose Day. We also completed different red activities in the classroom.

World Book Day!

We brought in our favourite book from home and a small cuddly toy to read the book. Year 6 children came to read our favourite books to us – we enjoyed sharing books with them and different adults too!

 

Spring 2 - Are eggs alive? WOW!

We started the half-term by celebrating Holi and Chinese New Year. We dressed up in Chinese clothes and learning the Chinese animal story. We did some marble painting to make bunting to celebrate the beautiful colours of Holi.

Our caterpillars and stick insect eggs also arrived for us to watch them grow.

 

Spring 1 - Do Dragons exist?

We enjoyed reading lots of fairy stories about dragons, etc. We learnt about different castles around the World and built some out of bricks.

 

Spring 1 - Do Dragons exist? WOW!

We started our topic with making and decorating dragon eggs - it was fun but a bit messy!

We also started to play in our role play castle and dressing as princesses and knights.

Christmas!

We walked to the post box to post our Christmas cards to our family's. It was a bit cold but we had fun and walked very sensibly along the path. We saw the postman arrive in his van, just as we were leaving.

We made our own Christmas decorations and put them on the VERY BIG Christmas tree in the hall.

We wore Christmas jumpers and designed our own jumpers on paper.

On Thursday 18th December we had our Christmas Lunch - it was very yummy! We sat beautifully at the table and enjoyed wearing our party hats that we had made.

Snow!

We enjoyed playing in the snow! When we came into the class we then had hot chocolate to warm us up.

Autumn 2 - How many colours in a rainbow? 

Each week we focused on a different colour of the rainbow - red, orange, yellow, green, blue and the last week we had a purple week - which included indigo and violet.

We went on a colour walk around school and looked for the different colours of things we could see.

We finished the topic with making a colourful rainbow with Skittles and adding a drop of water.

 

Autumn 2 - How many colours in a rainbow? WOW!

We started our topic with thinking about the different colours of the rainbow and sang a song about them.

We also started to play in our new role play Post Office.

Autumn 1 - How many pebbles on the beach?

We have enjoyed our topic about the seaside. We have learnt about different animals in the sea and created them using collage materials. We have also talked about different things that you find at the beach. 

We have talked about Autumn and created our own tree with printed and coloured leaves. We learnt about Harvest and Diwali and did some activities to celebrate these - this included making Diva lamps and making our own vegetable soup.

Autumn Walk

We went on a walk to the bottom of the school field to find some Autumnal objects. We found leaves, sticks, twigs, pine cones and many more things!

Autumn 1 - settling in

We have had a great time settling into Nursery 2.

We have been making new friends and exploring our inside and outside learning areas. We have played with toys that are familiar to us but also toys that are new to us.
