Our Current Topic is ‘Me and My Community’

This project will run for the 1st half of the Autumn Term 2026.

It supports children with settling into the new rules and routines of school and encourages them to make new friends and feel confident in their class. It teaches children about being helpful, kind and thoughtful at home and at school. This project also teaches children how they are unique and special, the importance of friendship and how people in their family, school and local community are important and can help them.

How you can help your child at home:

*Talk through your child's day together when they get home.

*Talk about the friends they have made and what makes a good friend.

*Talk together about different people in your child's family, looking at photos together.

* Look through books together about starting a nursery, friendship, families.

*Encourage the children to talk about resources they like to play with at home and at nursery.
