Year 1

Welcome to our Year 1 page where you can find out more about what is happening in our class.

Year 1 has PE on Mondays and Thursdays. Children should wear their PE kit to school these days.

If you have any questions or would like to contact the class team please email [email protected] or call the school office on 01252 328589 to leave a message. Alternatively, you can fill in the contact form.

  • Worry Form It can feel scary to have a worry and it helps to talk it through and work out how to manage this worry. You can talk to a trusted adult, sibling or friend at home or at school. You can call Childline too on 08001111. Do you have a worry that you need to share with an adult at school? if so complete this form or talk to an adult at school as soon as you can. If you fill in this form it will go to Mrs Curtis and she will come and talk to you about it the next day you are in school.
  • Someone is not safe If you or someone you know feels scared or frighted by someone else, we are here to help. You can talk to a trusted adult at home or at school. You can call the Police on 999 or Childline too on 08001111. If you fill in this form, it will go to Mrs Curtis and she will come and talk to you about it as soon as she can.

Playtime!

•    Make a poster about your favourite toy- why is it special to you? Which material is it made from? Who gave it to you?
•    Design a toy that you would like to see in the toy shop.
•    Compare old and new toys.
•    Find out which toys your parents and grandparents used to play with when they were children.
•    Make a family tree to show different generations of your family.
•    Make a toy of your own- you could sew one from fabric or make a simple board game like snakes and ladders.
•    Make a timeline of toys from oldest to newest.
•    Teach us a new skipping or clapping game.

Class Assembly Dates

Here are the dates for our class sharing assemblies this year, we hope you will come and join us at 9am in the hall.

  • 10th October 2025
  • 13th March 2026

Year 1 also take part in the Nativity Performances on Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th December 2025.

  • Milestones Living History Museum – 7th May 2026
