At Ash Grange school Design and Technology encourages the children to learn how to creatively solve problems, both as individuals and as members of a team. We encourage children form the Early Years up to Year 6, to use their creativity and imagination to design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts.
We aim to link DT to other areas of the curriculum such as mathematics, science, engineering, computing and art. The children will gain experience in creating structures, mechanisms, textiles, electrical systems and food products. Learning to reflect upon and evaluate past and present design technology, its uses and its effectiveness. We aim to encourage the children to become innovators, risk-takers and creators.

There are 3 DT projects per year, 1 per term. The certificate below show the different skills taught each year and the projects.
