Year 2

Welcome to our Year 2 page where you can find out more about what is happening in our class.

Year 2 has PE on Tuesdays and Thursdays

  • Worry Form It can feel scary to have a worry and it helps to talk it through and work out how to manage this worry. You can talk to a trusted adult, sibling or friend at home or at school. You can call Childline too on 08001111. Do you have a worry that you need to share with an adult at school? if so complete this form or talk to an adult at school as soon as you can. If you fill in this form it will go to Mrs Curtis and she will come and talk to you about it the next day you are in school.
  • Someone is not safe If you or someone you know feels scared or frighted by someone else, we are here to help. You can talk to a trusted adult at home or at school. You can call the Police on 999 or Childline too on 08001111. If you fill in this form, it will go to Mrs Curtis and she will come and talk to you about it as soon as she can.

Half Term Project Details and Homework Ideas 

  BEACHCOMBERS

Below are a list of ideas for the project, try one of these or something else project related. 

Bring pictures from home of yourself or family members at the seaside or swimming in the sea. Identify the location on a UK or world map. What can you tell us about the place? 

Visit your local library to browse or borrow story and information books about the seaside. Can you make an information poster? 

With an adult, use the web to research famous artists who use the beach for inspiration. 

Use pastel/paint/felt tips to create your own Beach picture 

Make a miniature seashore garden, using natural materials such as pebbles, twigs, sand and shells. 

Make a list of all the activities you could do at the seashore. Survey your friends and family to identify the ‘Top Five Shore Activities’ and show the results in a pictogram or bar chart. 

Create a collage of a seaside scene using magazine pages 

Write a poem about the living things that make their home in a rock pool. 

 Design, draw, and paint a picture of a beach hut or build one using Lego!
