Starting Nursery

Your child is embarking on the first stage of their journey at Ash Grange and we will work in partnership with you to make it a happy and exciting one, meeting your child’s personal and developmental needs. Families are very important to us and we welcome all members of your family to our events and activities. We value and respect the crucial role you play in your child’s learning. In partnership with you we create an induction programme to enable your child to settle in well and be happy to stay and learn.

Once you have applied for a Nursery place we will invite you to a Stay & Play session. During the visit you will meet with our Early Years Leader. It is an opportunity for us to learn a little more about your child, answer any questions you may have and discuss which sessions are available to give your child the best possible start at Ash Grange.

Induction-You will be invited to a:

  • Parent and Child 1 hour visits
  • Child short stay visits where your child will experience nursery independently for a short while.

Each child has unique needs and in partnership with parents and key worker, an appropriate set of visits will be agreed.

During the settling in period we will encourage your child to play and explore their surroundings, meeting the other children and interact with the team. These sessions allow your child to become familiar with our setting and routines. This opportunity will also allow our Early Years Practitioner time to chat with you and your child so that key information can be shared.
