  • Scopay Funzone Bookings

    Fri 03 May 2024

    Dear Parent/Carer,

You may have noticed since the upgrade on the Scopay app there have been some changes to the way you book Teeny/Funzone sessions.

Some parents have informed us they have been unable to select the correct sessions when booking Teeny/Funzone. This has caused children to be added to incorrect sessions. We apologise for any teething problems from this update.

Scopay have confirmed the changes are temporary but may be a long-term issue, whilst this is sorted, I have attached a “How to Guide” with instructions on how to book which I hope will help.

If you would like me to show you in person, please pop into the office.

For those of you who are using the browser and not the Scopay app the booking process remains the same prior to the latest upgrade

    Best wishes

  • Children who went to Oakwood residential

    Fri 03 May 2024

Dear Parent/Carers of children who went to the Oakwood residential,

We took a huge amount of lovely pictures on the trip and wanted to share them with you but we can't separate them as children are sometimes in groups so we have a proposal.  We would like to put them in a shared file which is password protected and only those with the password can access the files.  To do this we need all parents to be willing to share their child's images with other parents and an agreement that no image can be placed on any other platform or sent to anyone else that has a child not from your family in it.  Without everyone's agreement we will be unable to share any of the images as the task of separating images is too great.

We respect everyone's right to choose and so if you do not want to agree to these terms please reply to this email by Tuesday 7th May.

    Kind regards,

    Mrs Curtis

  • Reception to Year 6 - Dental Health

    Fri 03 May 2024

Dear Parents/Carers of Reception to Year 6 children,

You may have heard about our dental health drive that we are on this month, teaching the children when and how to clean their teeth.  We have purchased toothbrushes for all the children so that they can clean their teeth at lunchtime each day, (or another time if they forgot to do it in the morning) there is toothpaste (age appropriate) in each sink area of the toilets.  This of course is in addition to their cleaning at home, not as some children thought instead.

Interesting facts we learnt this week are:

    1. Not to rinse the mouth with water when they have finished cleaning as it takes the protective toothpaste away.

    2. Mouth wash is for in-between or prior to cleaning to get the food out of the gaps

    We're all learning.

The children will be able to take their toothbrushes home at half term or leave them at school for using here.

    Kind regards,
    Mrs Curtis

  • Year 4 - Head lice

    Wed 01 May 2024

    Dear Parents and Carers,

A few cases of head lice have been found in Year 4 today.  It is important that all connected with the class and school are made aware of the problem and the simple steps that can be taken to combat the situation.

As with many other social situations where children play closely together, it is possible in school for head lice to transfer from child to child.  Remember, head lice actually prefer clean hair, so the possibility of infection is absolutely no reflection on a family’s standard of hygiene.  Head lice do not always cause an itchy scalp, so many people will be unaware that they are infected.  Sufferers only develop an itchy scalp if they become sensitive to louse saliva, but this can take up to two months for symptoms to appear.

Please find below some helpful advice to follow if anyone in your family is infected:

    CHECK:

    • Your child’s hair once a week
    • Use a proper detection comb – with teeth no more than 0.3mm apart to trap head lice and white  in colour so they can be easily seen.
    • If you find live lice, consult a pharmacist for treatment advice.
    • If head lice are spotted, take a close look at all the family, including yourself and ask close family

and friends to check as well.

    TREAT:

    • Only treat if live lice are identified.
    • Use a clinically proven treatment, ideally with a mode of action to which lice are very unlikely to build up resistance.
    • Leave the treatment on for the recommended time for maximum effect – leaving it on for longer will not make it more effective.

     COMPLETE:

    • Repeat the treatment for a second time seven days after the first to kill any lice that may hatch from eggs during that time – if the pack instructions specify that a second application is required.
    • Check that all head lice have gone within two to three days of the final application of head lice treatment to complete the process.

For further information on head lice see your pharmacist or visit www.onceaweektakeapeek.com

     Yours sincerely

  • Funded early education and childcare is expanding

    Tue 30 Apr 2024

    Dear Parents/Cares,

We want to inform you of some changes regarding early education and childcare support provided by Surrey County Council.

Starting from April 2024, there will be an expansion in funded early education and childcare services. One of the key changes is that by September 2025, the majority of working families with children under the age of 5 will be entitled to 30 hours of childcare support. This is an exciting development that will undoubtedly benefit many families in our community.

For more detailed information regarding these changes and how they may affect your family you can scan the QR code.

We will keep you updated on any further developments or information related to this expansion of childcare support as we receive information.

  • Eco project, Rethink waste program

    Fri 26 Apr 2024

    Dear parents/carers,

This term, we are raising funds for our next eco project through the Rethink Waste program. By completing eco activities at home, you can collect points which will then be donated to the school. If you are thinking of joining but have not done so yet, now is the best time for you to! Here is why:

Someone registering this week could donate 460 points to the school!  Once the new month rolls around, there will only be 260 points that can be donated.

Now is a great time to take part if you would like to be part of our fundraising for eco and encourage being green at home. Thank you for your support.

    Kind regards,

    Miss Emma Postel
