  • Christmas Bits

    Tue 12 Dec 2023

    Dear All,
We have had a wonderful start to the week, Nursery Singalongs yesterday, Christmas Lunch today - everyone is really enjoying the Christmas preparations.  Key Stage 1 Nativity performances over the next 2 days, the dress rehearsal was wonderful.  Then our Carol Concert at the church (everyone is welcome to come and enjoy), discos and fun fun fun on Friday with a 1.30pm end of day.

There are two valuable items attached to support you at home, one on safety with some really interesting facts and one on managing children's emotions through Christmas, for many it can be overwhelming, everyone has moments of needing some quiet.

We have had a little sort out and have some items for sale:

2x preloved Fit bits, we used them in school but no longer do, they are going for £5 each with new straps and charger.
1x cast iron tree stand, we use to have real trees in the front of the school but swapped a number of years back so the lovely stand is no longer needed, it is being sold for £15 (picture attached)

The Eco Shop has some lovely gift sets for sale, ideal for Christmas presents, if you want to see pop in the office or buy through the uniform shop.
    Kind regards,

  • Dunhelm Gifts

    Mon 11 Dec 2023

    Dear Parents/Carers,
The wonderful customers of Dunhelm have donated gifts to our children. When they invited us to take part, we nominated Year 6 children, the bags of items arrived and we had enough for all the children in key stage 2 to have a gift; how wonderful.  The children had the chance to look around the grotto and make a choice from chocolate, books, art materials, games. toys, smellies, football, skateboards and a scooter!
We are so grateful for this kind and wonderful generosity.
If we are lucky to be selected next year we will choose the younger years.
    Kind regards,
    Mrs Curtis

  • Swimming Badges

    Mon 11 Dec 2023

    Dear Parents/Carers,

As you know the children of Ash Grange are fortunate enough to have swimming lessons for 2 terms a year and achieve really high standards of ability.  I have now been trained to be able to officially recognise and award STA swimming certificates and badges to children at the end of each term of swimming.  Children will work through 9 progressive levels across the 'Octopus', 'Goldfish' and 'Angelfish' series, and can achieve a certificate and badge at the end of each level.   Please follow the attached link for further information Awards – STA.co.uk

The school has made a significant investment in the initial order of awards for children, so that their first official certificate and badge will be free of charge to parents.  The children who have passed a level will receive their badges today and theses can be sewn onto swimming costumes, trucks or towels or be enjoyed at home.

We will ask that parents/carers make a contribution of 50p towards any subsequent badges that their child is awarded in the summer term and beyond. This is a significant reduction on the full price of the awards.  We know that many parents/carers will have fond memories of receiving swimming awards as children, and we hope that this will help to inspire the next generation of confident swimmers.
