  • Music Lessons

    Thu 28 Mar 2024

    Dear Parents/Carers,

I have been liaising with Surrey Arts to increase the opportunities the children can have to music lessons.  We have two new opportunities starting after Easter.

    1. Singing Lessons.

Your child can have a group lesson with a small group of between 3 and 5 children

      or

an individual lesson with the teacher.

The costs are £9.10 per week if in a group and £16.10 per week if one to one.

If your child has Free School Meals or is a Young Carer there is no cost for a group lesson and a reduced cost of £2.80 per individual lesson with the teacher.

These will happen during the school day on a Wednesday each week.

If you would like to sign your child up for this, please follow this link

    2. Drumming Lesson

There is one space for an individual lesson with the teacher.

The costs is £16.10 per week.

If your child has Free School Meals or is a Young Carer there is a reduced cost of £2.80 per lesson.

If you would like to sign your child up for this, please follow this link

Both of these opportunities will begin from 24th April 2024.  If you have any questions, catch me after the Easter break.
    Kind regards,
    Mrs Curtis

  • Scarlet Fever

    Mon 25 Mar 2024

    Dear Parent/Carer,

We have been informed today of two pupils who have confirmed cases of scarlet fever. Within the past 10 days we have been informed of one other confirmed case. Following Public Health Authority guidelines we are now obliged to inform them of the current and any future confirmed cases..

Although scarlet fever is usually a mild illness, it should be treated with antibiotics to reduce the risk of complications and the spread to others. Children may return to school 24 hours after taking antibiotics if they are well enough.

Please see some of the common symptoms:
A sore throat, headache, fever, nausea and vomiting. This is followed by a fine, rash which typically first appears on the chest and stomach, rapidly spreading to other parts of the body. On white skin the rash looks pink or red. On brown and black skin it might be harder to see a change in colour, but you can still feel the sandpaper-like texture of the rash and see the raised bumps. The face can be flushed red but pale around the mouth

For more information on scarlet fever symptoms, diagnosis and treatment please follow the link below.

  • Help your child to read better

    Thu 14 Mar 2024

    Dear Parents/Carers,
We all want children to be better readers and there is something you can do at home to make this happen; turn on the subtitles.  It doesn't matter what age your child is, through this they read words, spell words and use words better - remember you need to see a word 100 times before it is in your memory forever.  You can do this by turning on the subtitles in your setting of your TV.  Here's a great link to inspire you:  https://turnonthesubtitles.org/parents/
One small change can help every child to read better.
    Kind regards

  • Red Nose Day this Friday

    Tue 12 Mar 2024

    Dear Parents/Carers,
As advertised on 15.2.24, it is Red Nose Day this Friday, 15th March.  This is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to get involved in work of this charity.  If you want to find out more about it all, follow the link.
We will be enjoying the day with our own events in school and:

    1.  On the day children can wear red clothing (not costumes) or not, as much or as little as they like.   It is not a mufti day, for wearing any clothes, they swap any part of their uniform for a red item.  If your child is having PE on Friday, then the swapped items must be suitable for wearing for PE.
    2.  We will not be selling merchandise as this goes against our Eco and World caring values of reducing waste, you can purchase through other outlets and the children can bring those to school. We want to be supportive of the charity so we will be having a red nose painting station at school during breaktimes on the day for the children to enjoy, we will be using face paints to paint a nose - costs nothing and produces no waste.
    3.  If you wish to make a donation to the charity you can do so directly on the charity's website or through Scopay on your child's account.
    Kind regards,
    Mrs Curtis
    Headteacher
