  • Pantomime is only a week away...Oh no it isn't Oh yes it is.......

    Tue 28 Nov 2023

    Reception class to Year 6

The Pantomime is only a week away…Oh no, it isn’t. Oh yes, it is…..

If you haven’t already paid for this and you would like your child to see the panto, please make your £3 payment on ScoPay or in the school office by the end of the day on Monday, 4th December.

  • Reading Sites

    Thu 23 Nov 2023

    Dear Parents/Carers,
At the last Parent Council meeting, it was asked if there were any reading websites we would recommend.  Mrs Irlam our English Subject Leader has been doing some research and shares the following:

    • Epic Books (which we already use in school)  allows children to read one free book per day after school with the basic option (families can pay for the premium memberships for approximately £70 per year for unlimited books and activities) https://www.getepic.com/
    • PBS word girl has vocabulary games - some are more educational than others https://pbskids.org/wordgirl/games/
    • Duo Lingo have a learn to read add which is free https://abc.duolingo.com/
    • Story Line doesn't have activities but has lots of recorded stories to be read to children by actors https://storylineonline.net/, which are wonderful to enjoy.

Happy reading.  See you all Monday as it's an INSET day tomorrow 24th November 2023, for staff training so the Nursery and School are closed.
    Kind regards,
    Mrs Curtis

    Dear Parents/Carers,
A couple of reminders for this week:

    1. There is a workshop for parents/carers on Thursday which is a wonderful chance to share and discuss ways to support homelife to bring more harmony. We will be exploring the model of PACE and Love Languages which are great tools to know about.  The workshops runs twice in the day 1.30-3pm and 7-8.30pm, if you would like to come then let the office or me know.

    2. Thank you to everyone who has donated to the Rags 2 Riches campaign, this is where unwanted clothes, bags, etc... are donated to Ukraine and we receive 50p per kilo for our fundraising for the wet playtime boxes in classes  If you have not bought your items in yet please make sure they are here by the end of school on Friday as they are being collected next Monday (27th November).
If you are unsure about what can go into the bags - follow this link.  If you have not used the bag, please return it to school for reusing in the future.
We will have a collection each term so keep items in between the collection dates.

  • Horseshoe Lake 2024

    Wed 15 Nov 2023

    Dear Parents & Carers,

We have organised an additional experience trip to Horseshoe Lake for up to 55 children in KS2 on Tuesday, 9th July 2024.

This is a water sports activity day which will include Stand-up Paddle Boarding, Kayaking, Raft Building and Dragon Boating. This is a fantastic day out, giving the children an introduction to the thrills and excitement of water sports activities.

Your child must be 8 years old (before 1st July 2024) and very water confident to attend.

This is a full day trip; we will be travelling by coach to Horseshoe Lake, leaving school at 8.55 am and will then return to Ash Grange at approximately 5.15 pm.

Your child will need a packed lunch and lots of drinks for the whole day; carried in a backpack. Only children entitled to free school meals can have a lunch provided for them by the kitchen.

Extra snacks for the morning and afternoon break times are highly recommended.

We have worked out the approximate cost on the minimum number of children required to run the trip, which is 35.

The approximate cost per child is £67.15 this figure will, of course, decrease if we have more than 35 children participating.

The price includes all activities led by the Centre staff and coach travel to and from the Centre.

If you would like to secure a place for your child, please complete this form and pay your deposit of £20.00 on Scopay under trips, KS2 Horseshoe Lake 2024, no later than Wednesday 6th December 2023.

After this date, you will not be able to book your child a place.  We have a maximum of 55 spaces, and places will go on a first come, first serve basis.

If we do not get the minimum number of take up required to make the trip viable, which is 35, all deposits paid will be returned.

    Yours faithfully

    Mrs M Curtis
