Dear Parents/Carers,
We had a meeting of the Parent Council today and shared some great ideas for events, starting with a Christmas raffle for our community. The plan is to ask you to send in any items you have spare at home (smellies, chocs, wine, child or adult gifts that you would like to receive from a raffle) for the raffle and to ask members of the local community businesses to contribute items or vouchers too. If when you approach a local company, they require a request on headed school paper please ask at the office and we’ll supply one.
From Monday you can buy a raffle ticket £1 per ticket from the Class Reps with cash or with card if buying from the office or staff member on the school gate.
Please send in items by Friday 1st December and we will draw the raffle in assembly on Friday 8th December. There will be a first prize of cash, the amount will depend on ticket sales, hopefully a big one of £50. All money raised will go towards buying new resources for wet playtime boxes in all the classes.
The team also shared ideas for community events at school e.g. activity mornings, Christmas scavenger hunts, come and play at school. If you have any great ideas, then please come and share them with me or a Class Rep. We will write up all of the minutes in the next week and share them with you all.
We still have vacancies for Nursery 1, 2 and Year 4; let me know if you are interested in joining this group.
Thank you for your support,
Mrs Curtis and the Parent Council Class Reps

Dear Parent/Carer,
After pricing up what the cost would be to take the children to the Pantomime in Aldershot (coach cost and entry price), the cost per child would have exceeded £20.00, which we really feel is too much to ask for in this current financial climate.
So, with that in mind, we have decided that if we can’t go to the pantomime, then the pantomime can come to us!!! Oh no it can’t oh yes it can!
We have booked a company called Stage Ed to come to school on the 5th December 2023 to perform the wonderful “Aladdin”.
We will be having two shows, one in the morning for KS1 (Reception to Year 2) and then in the afternoon for KS2 (Years 3 to 6).
The cost for this production will be £3.00 per child, which can be paid via your Scopay account under trips/events, pantomime 2023. Alternatively, you can pay in the school office with cash or card.
This is a voluntary contribution to cover the cost to the school for your son/daughter taking part. Please note trips/visits are non-profit events the cost to the parents is only the cost of the trip/visit. The school confirms that the contribution represents our estimate of the cost providing this activity is shared equally amongst all pupils. As the resources of the school are limited, the visit will not take place if there are insufficient contributions to cover the cost of the visit.
Any family in financial hardship should contact me directly to discuss the matter, kind regards,
Mrs Curtis

Dear all,
The class have made a great start to the Together We Achieve programme. They have been taking part in a multitude of fun activities that promote confidence and resilience. Each session has a theme such as problem-solving, teamwork and persevering, and the children have started to develop their characters in their own unique way.
Year 4 write down and share their thoughts and what they do well during the session in their notebooks – which they get to keep. I explain how important it is to be resilient all the time and to believe in themselves.
A highlight for me was the children’s attitude and effort towards the Endurance Session, which had a variety of military style exercises, including tug of war.
For the rest of the term, we continue with the activities before learning first aid skills in January and more games!
Best wishes,
Mr Mayne
