  • Happy Half Term

    Fri 09 Feb 2024

    Dear Parents/Carers,
Happy half term everyone, I hope you all enjoy a good family time next week.  It has been a fast, full and fab half term.  The children have worked so hard and I hope you enjoyed seeing all of their achievements in classrooms, corridors and frames this week. There have been trips, assemblies and wonderful classroom experiences.  I am always so proud of the children and staff; and delight in seeing their achievements, big and small.
I am really proud of the work we are doing to support families with costs, from trip and lunch subsidies, prizes, to our new Eco Uniform and Shop.  I am looking forward to hearing your ideas and seeing how this will develop.

We are having our new fence added over half term, it is replacing the pencil fence along the hill. Once done we will be making a Woodland/Fairy Land for the children to enjoy.

We have lots to look forward to after half term: assemblies, Easter Shows in Y4, to new projects, trips, special days and even Y5/6 residential.
PE days remain the same as this half term.
All clubs from this half term have finished and we will be holding club try-outs after the half term, as Mr Barnett's email last week.

We look forward to seeing you on Monday 19th February. Enjoy pancakes, Valentines and more daylight hours.
    Kindest regards,
    Mrs Curtis

    Thu 08 Feb 2024

    Dear All
I am delighted to share that the Eco Shop is open for business.  Videos of the shop will be on our website soon
This is for our Nursery and School community to directly benefit from.  We have donated clothing, shoes, uniform, coats and lots more for you to help yourself too. If you want to make a donation it is maximum 50p per item; all the money will be used to buy more clothing and footwear.

Thanks to the wonderful In Kind charity, we are able to pass on to you many discounted everyday items on sale for 50p or £1.  We are restricting sales to a maximum of two per item (no one can buy all of the toilet rolls) per family so we can offer these discounts to as many families as possible. it is a first come first served basis, we can not reserve items.

Here are this week's products.  Buy them at the office before or after school with cash or electronic device.

Please note if you are paying by credit/debit card there will be an additional cost of 5p per item for banking charges.

  • Red Nose Day 15th March 2024

    Mon 05 Feb 2024

    Dear Parents/Carers,
Red Nose Day is coming on Friday 15th March and this is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to get involved in work of this charity.  If you want to find out more about it all, follow the link.
We will be enjoying the day with our own events in school and:

    1.  On the day children can wear red clothing (not costumes) or not, as much or as little as they like.
    2.  We will not be selling merchandise as this goes against our Eco and World caring values of reducing waste, you can purchase through other outlets and the children can bring those to school. We want to be supportive of the charity so we will be having a red nose painting station at school during breaktimes on the day for the children to enjoy, we will be using face paints to paint a nose - costs nothing and produces no waste.
    3.  If you wish to make a donation to the charity you can do so directly on the charity's website or through Scopay on your child's account.
    Kind regards,
    Mrs Curtis
    Headteacher

  • Vomiting and Diarrhoea

    Mon 05 Feb 2024

    Dear Parents/Carers,
We seem to be having lots of bugs in nursery and school at the moment, I am very alarmed at reports that children are being sent to nursery and school having been recently sick or had diarrhoea. I remind you of the NHS guidance that states children need 48 hours to recover from Vomiting and Diarrhoea.  If you do send your child in earlier, we will call for you to collect them.   I recognise the challenge of childcare issues but we all have to work together to keep everyone well.
I attach the document for your reference.
    Kind regards,
    Mrs Curtis

  • Spring/Summer Sports Clubs Trials

    Thu 01 Feb 2024

    Dear Parent/Carer,

We are pleased to announce that trials for our Spring / Summer Sports Clubs will begin the week commencing Monday 19th February. Please find below a timetable of when these trials will take place.

There will be opportunities for children to represent Ash Grange in District competitions in these sports, should they be selected for fixtures. Please note that next week (commencing Monday 5th February) will be the final week of Autumn / Winter Sports Clubs.

    Day Sports Club Time
    Monday 19th February

    Y5-6 Rounders

    3:20 - 4:15pm
    Tuesday 20th February Year 3-6 Athletics / Mixed Games 3:20 - 4:15pm

    Thursday 22nd February Year 3-4 Gymnastics 3:20 - 4:15pm
Friday 23rd February No club trials

Please take note of the following key information before trials take place:

    • Children do not need to 'sign-up' to attend a trial. They will need to bring their PE kit, water bottle, and suitable footwear to school with them on the day of the trial. Please meet Mr. Barnett in the Hall after you have changed into your PE kit.
    • All clubs are open to both boys and girls.
    • Children can attend a maximum of 2 clubs.
    • Children and parents will be informed of the results of the trial the following day.
    • The trial will take place on the same day and time that the club will run each week. Please ensure that your child is able to commit to this date and time every week before trying out for the club. Failure to attend training sessions may result in your child being removed from the club.
    • Parents should collect children from the main school entrance at 4:15pm following each trial and club session.
    • These clubs will run until the end of the school year.

Thank you in advance for your support with this. If you have any questions, please email peteacher@ash?grange.surrey.sch.uk
