Funzone Terms and Conditions

We accept Ash Grange Pupils from Reception Class to Year 6 for out of school hours childcare within our school run Funzone. This is a space for the children to relax and do lovely activities, have space to play with other children and enjoy our facilities. Staff do not supervise homework at Funzone, children are welcome to do their homework independently. 

A meal is offer at both ends of the day, a breakfast (cereal, juice/milk and toast/equivalent) and a light tea (wraps, sandwiches, something on toast, and a light desert of fruit or yogurts) for children staying after 4.30pm. Here's the link to the current menu.

Our Aim is that children can enjoy before and after school care in a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment.   

Booking Procedures

Before School and Afterschool Funzone is available 38 weeks per year (term time only) for the times stated below:

Breakfast: 7.45am - 8.45am

Afterschool: 3.15pm – 6.00pm with 2 session offers, see below

New bookings can be taken at any time subject to space being available due to existing staffing ratios, the booking can begin immediately.  

Late bookings on the day of sessions cannot be guaranteed and will incur an additional £2 admin fee .

To cancel a session, we require 1 working day notice, so that you are not charged for the session. A working day is classed as Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.15pm during term time.

There needs to be a minimum of 4 children to make a session viable, if there is less than this the parents are informed that the session is cancelled at least 72 hours beforehand. 

Fees are paid in advance of any sessions booked. Payment is in advance by Childcare Vouchers or using our online payment system Scopay.

Attendance and Conditions of Usage

Please inform the office staff as soon as possible if your child is unable to attend for any reason, if they are sick, we will cancel the session without a cost to parents.

To cancel a session, we require 1 working day notice in person or by phone, so that you are not charged for the session. A working day is classed as Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.15pm during term time.

If your child is observed to be ill during their session, we will contact you or a named contact to collect your child as soon as possible. Ash Grange Primary School will require your written consent in line with school policy to administer any prescribed medicines and may make suitable medical decisions and seek medical help if unable to make contact with any of the individuals listed on your registration form.

If the school has an emergency closure, you will have payment refunded but we will not be liable for any claim for loss of earnings or alternative child care.

Late Collection

If you pick up after 4.30pm, you will be charged for the full session of Funzone which is £12 for each child attending. 

Funzone closes at 6pm; there are no staff members to provide late collection cover.

If you are late due to an emergency contact the Funzone staff as soon as possible on 07732 564309.

Late collection will incur a charge of £5 per 15 minutes per child as follows: 

• If you pick up between 6.00 to 6.15pm = £5 per child 
• If you pick up between 6.15 to 6.30pm = £10 per child 
• If you pick up between 6.30 to 6.45pm = £15 per child 

Payment of late collection fee must be paid prior to your child attending any further Funzone sessions.

Ash Grange Primary School reserves the right to withdraw access to Funzone for repeat late collection of your child.

Rules of Conduct

Once parents have signed the terms and conditions they are given an access code for the pedestrian gate to access the site during Funzone hours (from 7.40am to 6pm), this code must not be given to children or shared with families not using Funzone.  The code changes each school year.

To protect the privacy of our children, mobile phones and cameras are not to be used by visiting adults within the school grounds and buildings..

The entrance to the Funzone is through the pedestrian  gate at the front of the school, walk through the playground to the rear of the school for the patio door entrance to Funzone. Children are not allowed to walk round unaccompanied. Children remain the responsibility of the parent/carer until they are handed to a member of the Funzone team.

Personal Possessions

We accept no liability for the damage or loss of any personal items whilst attending Funzone.

General Terms

We will give you one month’s notice of any change in the fee schedule or any change in these terms and conditions.

Funzone will be swimming on Tuesday and Thursday (when the pool is open).

Service Children

In recognition of the issues that some Service families can face when trying to access wraparound childcare, the Secretary of State for Defence has launched The Wraparound Childcare (WAC) scheme. 

Service families can check if they are eligible and how to claim WAC funding by visiting the Discover My Benefits website.
