Geography
Geography is all around us. The study of Geography ignites children’s curiosity about their country, town, and the wider world. Geography helps children to understand the world, its environments, and places near and far, and the processes that create and affect the world. The children develop their knowledge and understanding of physical and human features of geography through investigation of a range of places in Britain and overseas. As well as
learning about the wider world, children are given opportunities to investigate and make enquires about their local area, so that children develop an understanding of what makes our local area special. We ensure that the children’s knowledge and skills are progressive throughout the years, builds upon prior learning and provides the children with geographical vocabulary to communicate effectively. School trips and fieldwork are provided to give first hand experiences, which help to develop children’s understanding of the world around them.
