Wave 2 Provision

If children need extra support to enable them to catch up to the expected levels for their age, the following interventions are available.

Careful consideration is given to which intervention is best suited to the needs of a child.

Some interventions are delivered on a one-to-one basis; others are delivered in small groups.

These interventions may take place in the classroom or in another room set aside for the purpose.

The teaching assistants who deliver the interventions are trained and supported by their class teachers and by the Special Educational Needs Coordinator.

These programmes are put in place after standardised assessments have identified needs and additional resources allocated.
