Dear Parents/Carers,
We have been advised of few cases of head lice in your child's class. It is important that the class and school are made aware of the problem and the simple steps that can be taken to combat the situation.
As with many other social situations where children play closely together, it is possible for head lice to spread from child to child at school. Remember, head lice actually prefer clean hair, so their presence is absolutely no reflection on a family’s standard of hygiene. Head lice do not always cause an itchy scalp, so many people may be unaware that they are affected. An itchy scalp only develops if a person becomes sensitive to louse saliva, and this can take up to two months for symptoms to appear.
