Dear Parent/Carer,
You may already be aware that Ash Grange offers a mini residential for children in Years 3 or 4, as preparation for a longer residential experience in Years 5 or 6.
This year the event takes place on Friday, 27th June as published in our calendar.
This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to participate in an overnight stay away from home in a safe environment and gain new outdoor skills and knowledge. This is an optional event, for your child to enjoy if they are ready to sleep away from home. The evening’s activities will include: Den making, Campfire, Obstacle course, Team building, pizza making (for supper).
Children should arrive at school at 5pm on Friday, 27th June, wearing their own clothes suitable for the evening’s activities, and bring their overnight belongings, including:
Soap
Flannel
Toothbrush and toothpaste
Brush/Comb
Pyjamas
Clean clothes for the morning
Swimming kit and towel
Sleeping bag, Roll mat/Air bed, Pillow.
Don’t forget special Teddy bear/sleeping toy if needed.
The children will sleep in separate boys’ and girls’ rooms, located upstairs in the Year 3 and 4 classrooms. Mrs Curtis, Mrs Rumsby, and the Year 3 and 4 teachers will be staying overnight with them.
On Saturday morning the children will have a swim, tidy the areas that we have used, have breakfast and will then be collected at 9am.
A small contribution of £7 is required to cover the cost of supper, breakfast and campfire treats. (If this contribution is difficult for your family to provide, please speak to Mrs Curtis.)
Any medication taken overnight or first thing in the morning needs to be given to a member of staff in a named pot/envelope on arrival at 5pm.
