Happy New Year News

Hello Everyone,
Happy New Year to you all, I hope that 2024 will be a wonderful year of peace, happiness and healthiness.
We have enjoyed a joyful week as projects launched for the Spring term - children were so excited by their learning, with lots of dressing up, practical fun and memorable experiences.  The class pages of the website have been updated with pics and homework ideas for this half term, let your child be creative with something that interests them.  With a short half term there is a month for making a project piece with the due date by 7th February.

Staffing
Mrs Rennie in Reception Class had expected to return for a couple of weeks before starting maternity leave but is needing to rest more so Mrs Newcombe has swapped this week into Reception for the rest of the school year.  We will let you know the baby news when we know it.  We welcome Mrs Hua to the Nursery 1 team as we have another intake of children in the new year.

Weather - We were doing very well with the weather but last night we had a small flood in Y1, all is well but the flooring is a little wet in places.

Lunchtimes together - We are experimenting with lunchtimes together for eating and playing for the next two weeks so all of the children eat at the same time and then all play together.  The children are really enjoying it.

Teeny Funzone after school on Wednesdays - Please be aware due to staffing needs from 10th January onwards, Wednesday Teeny Funzone will join with the older Funzone group so parents/carers please collect at the lower playground door near the field.

PE days
From Monday there is a change to the Monday or Tuesday PE day.  Reception have PE on Monday; Years 1 to 6 have PE on Tuesday.  Children wear their kit as normal on a PE day.
There is no change to the Thursday or Friday PE session.  If you are unsure, check your child's class page on the
website

Kind regards,
Mrs Curtis
